JMO, but I believe they send out a lot of invites and spend a little more time personalizing them for the players they really want at the camps. Most of the players at a camp are there so that the players they really want to see have somebody to play against and so that they can make money off the camp.

Now if a player they didn't know anything about happens to stand out at a camp then they'll take notice. It is just a lot harder to stand out if they're not looking for you, especially if you're a position player.
If your son is interested in any of these schools I think it is a good venue for exposure to the coach.

My story is. Academics was a primary concern for my son. He had a number of schools interested in him for baseball. As we went on visits and tours we focused on school and always made him aware of club ball if he did want to play. He found a school where he was not being recruited but liked everything about the school. He contacted the coach to let him know he was coming. He went to 2 camps at this school and the coach noticed his work ethics and talent. He loves this school and so far doing well. Fallball is going well.

Are any of the invites from schools you are interested in? If so I would attend they are usually economically priced and he is playing ball. Afterword you can always make a decision.

Also at these camps current players are there which you can speak with about the program.
