When a college mails recruiting info to a HC C/O player X. Is there any obligation by the HC to pass this along to the player. In past threads I've read that it's very important to fill out questionaires and get them back ASAP. The HC routinely throws them away.

How detrimental is this to the player?

Technically if the mail is sent to the attention of player nobody can throw it away----it is the players mail not the coaches---but things do get "lost"

To answer your question he is obligated and it is part of his job to pass it along to the player

Question for you: how do you know that he "routinely throws them away" ?

Players while talking with the coach in his office will see them on his desk. They never make to the player.

I am realistic in that a coach has the right to do pretty much what he wants. And there's no shortage of coresponedence via email or snail mail. And probably at times this can be overwhelming.

I quess my main concern, does this reflect negatively on the player. If they do not respond for whatever reason?
