One issue may be very few B-City and B-County teams in B-Metro 18U remain.

At the 18U, in the 60's - late 80's, B-Metro was as a hotbed for talent as Anne Arundel County Legion Baseball .

The teams and the talent slide began in the
mid-90's, and since the late 90's, Legion in Arundel County may have two-three teams remaining.

As far a $430 per player per team in B-Metro. Without sponsors thats about <$8K (and may not include hotel/meal money or tournament entry fees.) That cost appears excessive assuming a 30 game schedule at $266 per game!

Bottom Line: For several areas within Maryland, American Legion baseball is good baseball.
Frederick, Montgomery, Waldorf, PG, Eastern Shore, & others. Babe Ruth Baseball is also good baseball. B-Metro 18U is good baseball for half the number of teams.

The college scouts will show at Legion State and Regional Tournaments in late July and Aug.

For those 16 & 17 y/o HS prospects in the 60's and 70's the majority played with wood in the DC or Balt Industrial League. In the past five years, the HS 17 & 18 y/o prospects played Clark Griffith, Eddie Brooks or in the inagural year Cal Ripken Sr League.

Of course, you may want to examine the specific teams that you are entertaining!
