That's why I deleted my post. When I went back to review it I realized I couldn't tell at what point the clip started and I couldn't, from the clip, definitively tell if the hands were already slightly moving when the clip started.

Basically from this clip, on my computer, I cannot tell if what I am seeing is the end of coming set or a second move after coming set.

IF he was set from the start of the video then he resets his hands and goes to the plate would you see this as a balk? Does this make sense to you?

Yes a double set is a balk.

My assumption was the clip started in the middle of the stretch. The hands were still moving and when they stopped, it was for the first time.

Yep. If he had come set and made that move and stop prior to the pitch, I've got a balk.

Like, Dash, I thought he was moving slowly from the beginning of the clip. Now, I can't swear either way.

Coach, I know you know there is nothing illegal about fooling the runner. Heck, that's the goal. There's a difference between deception and illegal dececption.

But I hear that often, even at the college level, as a reason a move should be called a balk. "Jezzus, Jim, my runner couldn't tell what he was going to do....that's gotta be a balk."

No, Skip, that was a great move.
