Yesterday in my town of Manchester CT we had an episode that shook the town and state----a distributorship worker went ballistic in the early morning killing 8 as well as himself

I was on the way to the PO when I had police screaming by me from every direction

8 Innocent people gone for no reason

Just goes to show that you never know what can happen--enjoy your life every day because you never know what is around the corner

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the victims in this tragedy. It was difficult for me to watch the coverage of the aftermath of this event, and I can't imagine what it's like for the locals. IT HAPPENS, and it's too bad. I agree with TR, enjoy your life Everyday, because you never know what is around the corner!
Yes, it can happen anywhere. A year or two after I moved into my current home, a quiet little neighborhood just south of Portland, a father killed his three children VIA intravenous drugs, then killed himself through carbon monoxide poisoning in the garage.

He did this because of a divorce custody dispute at the home of his parents where his kids were staying, six doors down from my house.

Shocking.
This is a horrible situation and I will be praying for those families. But what this type of situation does for me is remind me to make sure I always have my .45 close by when I am out and about. For me this is just another reason why its important for law abiding citizens to make sure the criminals and nut jobs are not the only ones armed.
Very, very sad.

Don't think for a moment that the never ending entitlement programs and its associated mindset, doesn't have an effect on people's sense of personal responsibility. Let's see how it works: I can steal from my employer at will but if my employer responds instead of accepting personal responsibility, the accusers are racist and I am justified in doing the unthinkable.

Very similar to Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel situation where they engage in all kinds of unethical and illegal activity and if anyone focuses attention on it, guess what, they are racist. Of course at that level its all politics, however that victimology mindset seeps down and some people buy into it and the consequences for their lives (and in this case others) is significant.

At some point its a failure and corruption of leadership.

ps. Coach May brought up another reason why I never disagree with him.
