Baseball here in TX starts in less than 30 days!

39 days until we'll be headed to Texas to watch the Boilermakers!
-21 degrees here in Massachusetts yesterday. Baseball seems very far off.
As is common in GA; yesterday was a high of 36 with such a threat of an ice storm they closed schools! Today it's suppose to be a high of 58. Monday HS tryouts start, it says high of 44 and sunny, but these things tend to change.
13u (7th grade) practice started on Saturday and another practice today. Can't wait to watch the boys play.
Ugh. 60 days until the first game can be played in Illinois. Even at that we will be in winter hats, gloves and snow boots.
Our first pitch high school umpire's association meeting was supposed to be yesterday. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the mud slides in Ventura County, CA. The main north & south freeway that connects LA to Santa Barbara is closed and will be for another few days. The fires burned everything that absorbs water and the heavy rains over the last few day has made an unbelievable mess.
Its always great to get to the time of year when meeting start and we can focus on Baseball......
Here in PA, Our rules interpreters meeting is next week, with the individual chapters rules meetings separately scheduled afterward and into February. We will start getting scrimmage and game assignments........weather permitting (and it rarely does) we should reach the field in late March.
Still plenty of time to work on your rules knowledge and fitness, and upgrading your uniforms and gear for the upcoming season.
If you don't put in your preseason work, don't complain about not getting any post season work........
