Fred was an acquaintance through baseball.  Although mys son was a little older than his, he was always interested in anyone who loved the game.  He and his family lived in my neighborhood before relocating to North Carolina.  This picture was taken a year after he moved (2 years ago).  He stopped by to watch my son's team play in Durham at the Impact tournament a few years ago and ended up staying in the dugout for the whole weekend.  That is just the kind of guy he was.  He is sorely missed up in New York.

JH - Sorry to learn of your loss.  Hopefully many of us have someone special like Fred  in our lives.  I do, and I like to embarrass him with how much he means to me.  Thanks for sharing.
