It's Baseball Season

I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Our 1st game - Tuesday. Forecast - rain.

Our 2nd game - Wednesday. Forecast - rain.

Cure for drought .... Announce the start of the baseball season!

Yeah, it used to only happen when I planned to play golf.

This must be one of those corollaries to Murphy's Law.

On this occasion, I'm reminded of a night when my son was 5 or 6 years old and we were going to the ballpark to see the Nashville Sounds. As usual, we were running a bit late. Realizing we might miss the beginning of the game, Brad was growing very impatient with Mom and Dad (mostly with Mom). Brad said, hurry up Mom or we're going to miss that baseball song -- refering to the singing of The National Anthem.

- Whoever said a walk was as good as a hit, couldn't hit.

Looks like opening day is a rainout guys.

Farragut and Central did get the game in. Farragut won 10-0 in 6 innings. Steady rain throughout the game, but the field held up well.

Homeruns by Eldridge and Waldrop. Just glad to be able to play!

Rockwood got in 7 innings between the rains at Cumberland County and came home with a 4-3 victory.

Eagle_fan, Andy Willis is burning up the diamond at SS. He made 3 spectacular plays in today's game that Rockwood usually doesn't make. He is going to be a difference maker.
