It's fantasy football time!

Am I the only one intersted in Fantasy Football this year?

I'm in, but a novice. Awaiting further info...

Coach, we've had a HSBBW fantasy football league for several years now. We only get about 10 players per year, but it is a lot of fun for those involved. I see that you're new to HSBBW, so welcome to what many of us consider the greatest baseball website for high school aged players, I hope you find it worthwhile and contribute as a regular member.

In closing, I have a question for you. Why not?

c'mon, guys, lets get a league going! The commish (I nominate 06catcherdad) says its a tradition, can't let that die.

I am in again. We had a lot of fun the last couple of years.

We had Deemax and Beemax. I am not sure of the others. We lost probably the best player in JT this year.

i've got the football iq of a fence post, but i'm willing to be a whipping post........i'm in.

If there's an open spot, I'll play.

I'm in. Didn't do so hot in the Yahoo league, but my Steelers did win the big one!

The last two years, we've played on Yahoo Sports. Deemax has been the commish each of the last two years, and if he's willing again, I'd prefer him to do it. If not, I'll figure it out.

Some of the other players last year included Deemax, Beemax (his little brother), Kentucky Raiders, Houston Oilers (or some similar name), and a couple others. We had 10 teams, which worked nicely. I wouldn't want us to have more than 12 teams.

Live draw, and we should have it sometime the week of the 23rd, I think. I'd prefer to hold the draft in the evening, so that everyone can log on.

So far, it looks like we have: 06cd, 3up-3down, Wayne, 20dad, redsox8191, marlinsMS_35 and 21clemente. That gives us 7 players, need 3 more, at least.

I think Deemax and Beemax have been around recently. You might want to send Deemax a PM since he may not have seen this thread.

Paticipationg is completely free. Yahoo Sports has no charge, and this year they offer live scoring at no charge too.

The league doesn't charge anything to join, the winner only receives 'psychic' income....and bragging rights!

If we can swing the draft on a wednesday or thursday evening I'm in..otherwise I won't be in front of a pc. (Pt job)

So let me know when we pick a draft date...don't want to take a spot from someone if I can't do the draft.

Wed sounds good to me...what time in the evening? I'm in the east...we talking 9 or 10pm EST?? To allow the west coast folks time to get home etc....

I"m thinking like 6:30 pacific time, 9:30 eastern time.

I sent a PM to Deemax, hoping that he'll repsond and agree to run the league again. Haven't heard from him yet, but if I do I'll let everyone know. If not, I guess I'll figure out how to do it.

Wednesday, August 18th at 6:30 PM Pacific Time for hte draft. How's that sound?

I'm good for whenever you think to draft. A weekday evening is a lot better for me as well.

FYI:
I took some time to work on my pre-draft rankings last year just in case I had problems connecting or wasn't home on draft day. Sure enough I missed it but got a good team with my top three or four guys because I moved them way up the rankings. It was very easy to do; just make sure you hit save before leaving the page!

The first game of the NFL season is Thursday September 10th, so no real hurry to draft IMO.But I'm ok with what you decide. Should be fun!

Again, looking forward to it and will probably be available most any night you guys decide. However, if many of us are new 3up may have a point. I wouldn't mind a week or two to spend some time on Yahoo and try to learn the rules and strategies for the draft. But regardless I'm sure it will be fun!

I hadn't even thought about that. Let's wait until right after September 1st then, but do it before Labor Day weekend. How's that sound?

Guys, as I just metioned to 3up-3down in a PM, I just returned from 10 days of hunting with my son, and I'm way behind. If anyone can take on running this league, that would sure be better for me at this point. If nobody else steps up, then I guess I'll still do it, but it'll have to be a few days till I can do anything.

This may take me a while to master. I realized too late that I had a guy out with an injury in my starting line-up! It did give me a different perspective watching the games Sunday and Monday night, pulling for my guys and against the players from the other team. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun. To bad my computer at work won't let me log on to the fantasy football webpage. Says it's a "game-playing" site. Surely there's been some kind of mistake!
