. I can agree with seeing just as OP this year on my sons HS team. We have a new varsity HC. 2013 who had made team and played every year (various levels as he progressed) came into tryouts. Hadn't put in the time in fall or winter and wasn't involved in other sports so that could not be an excuse. He was 18 so had started going to local strip clubs and posting on social media sites. When he tried out, according to my son he didn't try very hard and assumed he was on team. Even with all of this, HC told him that he would be on team but he had to take out earrings when on anything baseball related and that he could not frequent strip clubs during season. Kid refused and was cut. So in answer to OP observations, there was at least 1 of the 2538
