I don't watch Sports Center anymore unless there is no Baseball Tonight on that day. If there is a Baseball Tonight on I don't watch anything else on ESPN that day unless there is a Baseball Game on ESPN. I probably watch more hours on WGN and Turner stations each day than I do ESPN.

I used to like Sports Reporters on Sunday [when Dick Schap hosted it] but now they never get to baseball until the last 5 minutes [even during the part of baseball season when football and basketball are not being played] and I am sick of that nonsense.

Does anyone else think that now would be a good time for The 24 Hour Fox Sports Network to take another shot at it?

I think ESPN has a strong core of announcers for baseball. Shulman is very underrated, Brantley and Orel and good color men. Steve Phillips really knows what he is talking about. I think that if they could get a good baseball guy for in the studio, they'd be great. Kruk is ok, but doesnt really stretch his words, he sorta just says unoriginal lines. No one really provides deep insight or behind the scenes. HR sorta did, but his points were confusing sometimes. Anyone have suggestions on who could do a good job? I liked Rob Dibble haha.
I miss Perter Gammons. He knew all the important aspects of the game as a Baseball Tonight participant;: i.e. the stats part [only guy on the program that knew a players OPS], the GM part [knew who was trading whom and what the were asking for him] and the team stregths/weaknesses part [was flat out right on point on each team's needs and what other teams had that they could get that would help fill that need].

Kruk is a West Virginia redneck and we are proud as #&\\ of him. He really knows how to talk hitting and how to chug a beer [said knowledge, Phillies legend has it, being acquired simultaneously from late hours spent out on the Town, with Dykstra, Daulton, and others] but the rest of the game kind of passes him by and those discussions are what bring out the humor. Is anyone buying this?

Its amazing - whenever I see Steve Phillips on ESPN.

Like instant word association:

The nightmarish feeling in my gut - the instant headache - and the words "Vaughn, Alomar and Burnitz."

Single handedly ruined the NY Mets for 5 years - and now - "An ESPN talking head".

If that isnt an example of the "Peter Principle" - I dont know what is.

Steve "*******" Phillips. LOL
Biggerpapi, brought up the point of hockey games no longer being played on espn. The fact is their is'nt a demand for hockey anymore, I used to be a be fan of hockey, no i was a huge fan, the reason i wear #44 is because chris pronger is my favorite hockey player. but i nolonger watch hockey. OLN plays hockey now, they play as many games as espn used to.

as for s****r, well i wont be watchin any of that. Big Grin
