We've recently lost some of the most helpful posters to use this website in a long time. We're about to lose another valuable member if something isn't done to deal with a few bad apples that ruin the site for others.

Bob, I'm calling on you to please ban these troublemakers from HSBBW. Please block their website addresses from being able to participate in your website. A few ill intentioned people are ruining what this great website has become and it is time to stand up for those who've helped make it so great.

I'm asking you to cut the troublemakers off. Who else cares to join in this request?

I'm not really sure that you'll be able to keep certian people off of here by just locking them out. They can get another name and post from another place. The best way to resolve this is to make anyone that registers to give their name, address and a required donation to HSBBW. I'll pay to be able to get info and advice from fellow knowledgable posters, such as TR, TPM, PG, and Bob.

Some of these other people ruin what is a wonderful website. I've learned so much and what I have learned has helped me and my sons to follow through with their baseball, no matter where it takes them.
Well, the private thing is very unfortunate, but if I got a really rude private email from someone, guess who I'd never open another email from! I'm not sure if my computer has the capability to block emails from certain addresses, but if so they'd be blocked after harrassing me once.

I think the quality people on here do a wonderful service for everyone and they're getting chased away by a few idiotic jerks. Maybe we should "out" the jerks and flood them with our own emails to give them a tast of their own medicine.
I think there is a problem with a lack of accountability here.

Everyone knows who TRHit, PG, Tiger Paw Mom and myself are for example. We don't hide behind curtains without identifying ourselves.

It is much easier for people to make statements when they are unknown and have no accountability. When TR or PG or myself make a comment we are accountable. Everyone knows who we are and we do not hide from our statements, Whether you agree or don't agree with us you know who we are.

Recently, I replied to a negative post from someone and used their real name in my reply. They were very upset and called me on the phone right away. They wanted to know why I used their real name on the site and to please delete my comments. My answer was that how can you attack a player without anyone knowing your name - I just wanted to even out the playing field. I did delete my comments (which were very positive) after he deleted his attack on the player. For the record, neither player played for my team, but I knew all parties involved.

I think we need to have names on profiles and those profiles need to be double-checked by folks like TR, Fungo, myself who have been here for a long time. Just one phone call will verify someone's information.

People whose names are known are accountable. They will not attack or flame anyone.

Until a system like that is implimated I would suggest that we do not reply to anyone who does not have a full profile. No profile means we ignor them or ask them who they are. TR does that all the time and I will now join him. I want to know who I'm talking to.

I take online classes at the University of Phoenix for a master's degree class and I know the names of all my classmates in each class. There is accountability in the class because we all know who we are dealing with.

Let's stop the madness now!
While I am realitively new to this site, and usually do much more reading than posting, it has been very beneficial to me and my son. I too have learned so much from the many, many more experienced posters and hate to see someone who has "been through the fire" run off. In the long run, players like my son and younger are the ones hurt becuase the voice of experience goes away.

I think some have offered great possible solutions, and am all in favor of making people more accountable for their words. Whatever means are necessary, I hope we will work to get it accomplished.

This is a very valuable site, and people like TR, Fungo, TPM, and so many others have so many positive things to share and offer, it is important that we all do whatever it takes to keep the exchange of info open and positive.
Although I agree with most of what is being said about registering for the site, including a fee, I would disagree with this info being available to every member.
Players and parents sometimes, respectfully, request info from fellow posters that pertain to their coach and school. Most coaches would not use this against our kids but some would punish the player for things they post.
Also what happens when a player is asking about transfering from one college to another but has not spoken to their current coach yet. As you know the BB world is small and it would not take long to get back to the players school.
That being said I think we should register with Bob, for a fee in required but the name should be protected from general publication.
I for one have no problem with the full disclosure solution. Others, may have issues with that and I think there is some validity to the privacy argument. However, we need to entrust a small group of moderators to enforce a checks and balance system. With all the forums that exist on the net, there must be a system that is already put in place to counter this existing problem.
