Oglesby, IL, about 10 miles from my house. Had a well-respected program when coached by Bob Koopman. He's moved on and I think they've had a coach or two since then. Don't know about the new guy.

The school has recently threatened to cut some sports due to funding problems. Don't think baseball was mentioned specifically.

This may be the standard, like public elementary and high schools threatening to eliminate art, sports and music unless we pay more taxes. But it might be worth looking at to see what they're thinking about the future of their baseball program.

Logistically, it's in the middle of a mostly rural county that still boasts over 100,000 population. Very close to LaSalle-Peru and Ottawa. Also Starved Rock, a popular state park.

They only show six guys on their roster...that might be a problem!

biggerpapi - Not sure how long you've lived in the area. I played basketball there in the mid-late 80's under the legendary Dean Riley. Had great hoops teams (3rd in nation in 87-88) and as I recall very good football teams under Vince McMahon.

Thought the area and people were nice - can't remember much about the baseball teams but have heard the sports programs are struggling to find funding.
