For those whose sons are contemplating playing for one of the Ivys, here's a link to a NY Times article that explains the AI or Academic Index, which all the schools have used for the past 25+ years to assess academic standing.

Slotty thanks for posting this. The article is very interesting....it is the 1st time I have seen how they are adjusting for the rank in class data.

It is motivating to sit down with a student who is 'on the bubble' perhaps and who can see what is still in her or her power to up their AI. A little more effort in the classroom to get that GPA up, and on the SATs and subject tests, can go a long way.

And I agree about Fenway's wealth of knowledge on all of this! Thanks, Fenway, for your advice this year --- we have certainly put it to good use.
