How were kids selected for this game?

Congratulations to those players selected. It is a terrific list, IMO, and shows just how strong the class of 2007 is.

IMO, one glaring omission, Cam McConnell-C-Deerfield HS.

McConnell and Tompkins are playing out of state on the 13th. They were both invited.

Thank you. I forgot that the WWBA 18U World Series is held during that time. There may be others, especially pitchers, who have committed to play in East Cobb with their travel teams.

Nonetheless, there are plenty of great players who you've chosen and the event should be top notch.

How were the players chosen for this event?

rip...It is scheduled for tomorrow night, July 13th at 7:00 p.m., in Lisle.

At last night's CICL all-star game, I heard it had been bumped up to 6:00 PM. I might've miss heard it as they could've been talking about an upcoming Dupage Dragons game.

It should be something to check up on though as I'd rather feel more responsible for being wrong and getting people there an hour early rather than not say anything and have it actually be at 6.

If they changed the time, then they have failed to inform the players. As far as I know, my kid plans on 700 PM.

I was also told to be there at 7 but if it is at six someone please let me know.

THE GAME WILL START AT 700PM ON THURSDAY, JULY 13TH. IT WILL BE PLAYED AT ILLINOIS BENEDICTINE COLLEGE IN LISLE.
WE WANT ALL THE PLAYERS TO REPORT AT 530PM. YOU WILL BE GIVEN A GAME T-SHIRT AT THAT TIME. THE PRE GAME WILL START AT 615 PM FOR THE HOME TEAM, AND 635 PM FOR THE VISITORS. YOU WILL BE TOLD WHICH TEAM THAT YOU ARE ON WHEN WE ISSUE THE T-SHIRTS.

Nothing has changed. Players there at 5:30pm.....

I do apologize for potentially giving misleading info about the start of the game, it was that I was in a rush to leave and was only somewhat paying attention. I am glad that the correct info was given after my mistake.

For those who attended the game, most of you probably saw the ground ball hit to Pete Capetta. Hope its nothing really serious, and that he is back playing as soon as possible.

Congrats to the players for a great night of baseball. Pete is a heck of a tough kid. That was one of the worst hops I have ever seen. I think it caught more of the cheek than the eye. I assume he will be back in a couple of days. good luck to all with the summer playoffs next week.

He was fielding a routine ground ball at SS, when it experienced a bad hop and came up and hit him directly in the face area. It was not a pretty sight. Hopefully, he is OK....

Knowing Cappetta and talking to him often....He is ok and will get back to playing baseball within a day or two.

Pete played today for Top Tier 17U in Ft. Wayne. What a class act. Nasty wound to his eye socket and cheek but he and his family drove to Ft. Wayne to play ONE game. Pete started on the hill and threw 3 strong innings which lead to a win.

If the players weren't inspired by his presence and performance, then they must be half-dead. Pete, Sam Sorce and all those Praire Gravel players would have expected nothing less than you gave today. Thank you.

Pete played with a hair line fracture of the orbital bone, OLD SCHOOL ball player! Not sure if I would let the kid play if he were on my team, but I sure do respect the heck out of him.
