Here is video Jameson Taillon from The Woodlands HS in The Woodlands Texas. At 6' 7" 230 lbs. he is force to be reckoned with. He has a plus fastball and curveball and while currently verbally committed to Rice, he may enter the MLB Draft, where he would likely be a first round pick.

I heard Taillon was consistently above 95 touching 99 a few times in The Woodlands/Flower Mound first game. Wish I was there.

Flower Mound.....0...1...0...0...1...0...0..........2...2....2
The Woodlands....2...0...5...1...2...0...X.........10...9....0

Due to weather adjustments, these two were able to match a second time. Different outcome primarily due to an outstanding performance from Millard (FM) who was the first to keep The Woodlands scoring in the single digits.

The Woodlands.......0...0...1...0...0...2...0.......3....7....2
Flower Mound........5...1...0...0...3...0...X.......9....10...2

Thanks for making the trip FM as it was great to get this kind of competition this early in the season. Both teams showed some rust but I expect we will see a great season from both of these teams.
You heard wrong. Scotland Yard is a tiny park and his velocity supplies the power. The swing was not a solid swing at all, yet it flew out and it was a nice shot. That same kid though hit 1 or 2 more home runs on the weekend, good way to start off the season! Hopefully Flowermound can carry the momentum of a few nice wins to close out the tourney

Thank you bb51623 for the nice comment about my son. I would think that getting a 34 inch bat around on a pro prospect of Taillons caliber would be a great accomplishment but instead we need to talk about how long the fence is? I hope Talliion doesn't give up too many homeruns during the season since it seems easy to do at home games. I hope SoTxBaseballFan that you are a player and that Jameson appreciates your support. His family seemed like a super nice group of people and were not at all concerned about the field dimensions.

SOTX... one, a ball that has velocity will travel further than a ball standing still (on a tee) kudos for the obvious.... but the ball is not supplying nearly the "power" you think it is...

second, the batter supplies almost all the power through the kinetic link of energy... just because a kid puts bat on ball doesn't mean it is going out of the ballpark because ball's velo was 95+....

third, why you are knocking a high school kid around on here is sad... if what you said about the ball supplied the power then wouldn't there been a number of home runs hit off him? How many kids made contact? How many of those balls traveled over the fence?
Confused

Taillon had 8K's 2 walks and 2 hits (??) in 5 innings from a very good hitting FM team.

I don't care to split hairs about the ballpark. Bottom line is this weekends tournament had some VERY good HS baseball teams with (thankfully) a good Saturday of weather. Sure things were a little rusty for early season but how good was it to get out to a fine ballpark and watch good teams battle and discover what adjustments they need to make before district. Priceless!!
Don't think he needs my support, doubt his family even gets caught up in this sort of stuff with how busy they must be. My son Graduated in '08 but know the kid and his family, and saying a kid "dropped a pretty big bomb off him" is false and could come across bashful as well. However, the kid hit a nice shot and hit a few more over the weekend! What a way to start a season! Sorry if it came across as bashful, wasn't intended to be. You are right, it is a great accomplishment.. I also believe that kid that hit the home run is committed to a college, good luck this season and in the fututre! Good luck the rest of the way guys! With that top end pitching you guys have, there is no reason FM should not be in Round Rock come June!!
