Sure, it's exciting to watch a guy keeping it down while throwing 97. Is it just as exciting to watch a guy throw an 82 mph fastball and hit spots like a sniper with that and all of his pitches?

Hell yes, I love it. The guy's 44, methodical and studied. He comes out and has guys laughing at themselves because they can't seem to draw a bead on his pitches. Fun as hell to watch batters second guessing themselves after some of the swings they take.

Coho,

I agree 100%. And to think next month he will turn 45. He kept the Phillies in the game and gave them a chance to win. He is a real thinking mans pitcher. There is a lot to be learned from his approach to the game. Moyer worked every hitter, spotting just about every pitch with pin-point accuracy and changing speeds. I didn’t see a pitch over 82 mph. Noticed how he slowed the game down with men on base especially when the bags were juiced in the second inning. Jamie kept the Rockies out on their front foot for 6 solid innings.

He has been one of my heroes for years and a poster child for you guys who don’t have the “fireball” velocity. Learn how to “spot” your pitches, change speeds, and control the tempo of the game and you will be able to compete.
