All,

I am in the US Navy stationed and Japan and my son 13 has been playing baseball for Japanese teams.

They play every weekend and Holiday bar none and sometimes on school days from 0700 to to 1700.

My biggest question is how does my son line up with USA kids. Since he has never played against American kids who are really serious about baseball.

Todd;
You maybe aware we have played the Japan National High School Teams since 1983.

Did you watch this year's games in Koshien?
did you watch Yuki Saito the "handkerchief prince"?

Please consider your son fortunate to learning the game from the Japan coaches.

Maybe you can form a Japan team of 14-15 year olds and travel to California next summer.

SOrry, I havent been able to respond but you know I am full time Sailor and Dad second especially out here in Japan. By the way my son hit on off the 95M right field fence to wim the Kanto plains 13U tournament. He was then benched becasue they were after more powerful keids. I guess when you 100+ kids on the team they have alot to choose from.

I hope other parents (military or non Military) who get a chance to go to Japan sign their kids up. Hours are crazy but the dedication your child will have is awesome. Ask my son Gabe sometime!

I won't have a chance to form any teams but maybe other teams can come to Japan to see their practice.

Eat, Drink, breath baseball!

Todd
