Wow....this kid has some serious demons!

My son's pitching coach in Andover, MA made my son sit down and read the SI article on Allison.
I think it was about 18 months ago or so. Talk about how drugs can can completely screw up your life, this kid had it all right in the palm of his hand. The dream every kid has about getting to pro ball and making the big time money. Now you wonder if he will even live to 25!

I sincerely hope he finds a way beat his demons....and soon!

I also hope if he does, he will take the time to visit middle & high schools and try to show other young people just what these drugs can do to your life.
I've read several articles about Jeff Allison, as he's from Eastern Mass like me. He was projected to get drafted higher than he did. After the draft he said he was going to make sure everyone that passed over him regretted it. He seemed like he had something to prove, but a couple mistakes and he's just trying to live. I also have a family member who overdosed on heroin, he is alive, but has brain damage. I hope this kid figures things out and quick.
I too read read the news clip. This is a true bummer. My son was on the same TOS-Joplin team as Jeff and said he was a good guy during the short time there. Back when the news first came out a couple of years back it was hope Jeff can get clean and back to playing(Though I don't think it was heroin), now it's hope he can get clean to stay alive. My kids reponse was a little more graphic but had the same meaning and hoping the guy can beat it.
