it's official.....posted this on theoldcoach.com... brian jones has been hired as jesuit baseball coach.... he's been a coach several of north texas' top programs from poteet, wylie and creekview... brian is a former player for WT White's David Shepherd...so Brian knows how to walk down Willow over to Jesuit...and where he can find a parking space...

there was tons of speculation about jesuit after former coach kevin williamson re-assigned within school... jones is a good choice.... jesuit has a lot of plusses to it, but it's not going to be a bird's nest on the ground anytime soon...

I hope Coach Jones is a good coach and I hope he does well, but I am still confused about the firing of Coach Williamson. Most of us players like and enjoy playing for Coach. Just becuase some senior players with bad attitudes complain and just because their parents do too is no reason to fire a good coach. Coach works hard, cares about us, and is a good coach. I wish the AD and principal had asked us what we thought, since the seniors are gone.

JCP - I hope that you and your teamates will give Coach Jones a fair chance. He is a great baseball guy and an overall fantastic person to be around. Do your best to put aside any animosity that you might be holding because of the coaching change and let Coach Jones impart his baseball wisdom. You'll be pleased that you did.

I do believe you're right. Congratulations to Brian and his players. Best of luck in the playoffs. Some of us dads who have baseball kids in other schools (who obviously aren't playoff bound )are anxious to come out and support the Rangers through their playoff run.
Brian and JP Tovar grew up in The Grove and then went to W.T. White in H.S. .... Tovars,Johnsons,Jones, are just a few,I'm sure I've leftmany someout. The Grove put out many outstanding players back in the day. Many of us went on to coach either in H.S.,Summer or both. Being able to touch the lives of so many has truly been a bleesing in my life. It has also provided, many what I call, "Family" Friends into my family!!!
