Big Red, they have one D1 signee, Kaleb Merck, going to TCU. After that, a bunch of scra-ppy kids that play well as a team.

They were 0-2 against SLC, but won 5-5A because they won the other games they needed to win. They are deep in pitching, probably the deepest they've been in years. They are a streaky hitting team that can come alive and the next thing you know they have 10 up on the board.

Their biggest plus, they never....never give up. They play until the last out, no matter if the score is 10-0 or 0-10.

Scrap-py indeed. It is known Muncy can hit but no numbers are really eye popping. The averages are not particularly high but these kids get on base. Look at the runs scored...3 kids over 22 runs scored including one with 31. Thats producing. Merck will catch your eye pitching but its their pitching throughout that is truly impressive. The only stat to me that really matters is District Champions. They obviously know how to win.

Jesuits pitching is a whole lot of Walker and Meinhardt. You see their innings pitch and you can quickly find their 1 and 2(each can be either). They are consistently on the mound which is good because the rest of the pitching seems almost non existent. Their hitting is lead by Matt Shortall who leads in AB-90, Hits-39, 2B-10, HR-3, RBI-31, and Avg-.433. They do have some very solid numbers in the offensive category and should be tough outs.

I wanted to respond to this topic because it seems we have a few people on this board that are affiliated with these schools.

What is the ump situation with playoff games? Do the same umps do every game in a series? I saw Merck go off on the home plate ump.

DTiger... You were phenomenal all night. Couldn't miss a spot all night. (except a couple times when the count was 0-2) Don't let the eight hits deceive you. Kiminski was also very good when it mattered. Lots of LOBS. Was there a walk all night? I couldn't remember a count even running full.

Out of curiosity, who are Jesuit and Keller's 3rd starter? The guy who came in for Kaminski? Should be a good series. Good luck to both teams.
Game 1

Keller-12
Jesuit-1
WP: I guess Merk (threw 2-3 innings)
LP: Zach Walker

My inability to throw a dang baseball started the game off lovely and it all went down hill from there.

Game 2

Keller-5
Jesuit-2

WP: Merk
LP: de Gruy

Hard fought game by both teams. Both pitchers threw well. Jacques fought hard and pitched exceptionally well. Be looking for this kid as he is only a Soph. Merk struggled with location more than usual, but gutted it out for the complete game. I don't think he more than 1 guy tho.
