Jeter doesn't make the list

Not sure what to think about the list.

Nick Swisher overrated? Hasn't he far surpassed expectations?

BTW, When ARod hits his 30th HR and 100th RBI, that will make the 13th straight year of doing that. 14 out of the last 15 years. And... Didn't he kind of carry the Yankees in the playoffs last year?

Jeter not being on the top 5 overrated list is just a HUGE miscarriage of justice! His defense is marginal, but his offense is getting the job done.

I agree with PGStaff. Nick Swisher is a good player but he is not overrated.

JD Drew is also a good role player (like Swisher). But ole JD has not lived up to his contract $$. I submit he is overpaid not overrated. In the Fenwaysouth household, JD is referred to as "Nancy Drew".

Great players can be overrated. I think anyone who plays for the Yankees has an upper hand when it comes to being on this list regardless of how good they are. I think Swisher may be on there because he made the all-star team.

I'm surprised JD Drew is considered overrated. I believe the star potential went out the window years ago. The guy is a competent player. He has a high on base percentage and just enough power to have a quality OPS every year. He usually sits out too many games. But in a year where the Sox have had serious outfield issues with injuries the guy has played through his and continued to put up decent numbers.

The only people who would put Jeter on this list are clueless idiots that know squat about baseball and jealous Yankee-haters.

BTW, a few years back the University of Pennsylvania did a study of all the shortstops in MLB and Jeter was rated the worst defensive shortstop in the majors. As good as Jeter is overall, and yes the players recognize that, when someone who can be rated as the worst defensive shortstop in the game wins gold glove awards he is overrated.

Just to add some more fuel to the fire, the consensus pick for all-time overrated player seems to be Nolan Ryan.

Could some of it be that these players are so highly competitive that they can't stand to see their peers get props over them? Could some of it be that they get tired of seeing other peers get all the press or at least the vast majority and so they lash out with "over rated?"

Show me a professional player that truly believes that other players are better than him and I will show you a professional player that will not be a professional player very long.

Of course there is going to be resentment towards the guys that get the press. Of course there is going to be a backlash for getting the limelight.

First of all I think this is a pretty stupid idea even having a list like this. And secondly if anyone really thinks DJ is over rated I have to strongly disagree. But thats just my opinion.

Yea. I know the players did this poll. They're clueless or as Coach May Mentioned, they're jealous because each player wants the spotlight so when the other guy gets press while they don't, there's resentment.
