This is a little premature, as Torre's book does not come out for another ten days, but the sports talk shows in the NYC area have been buzzing today with teasers from the book that are posted on sites like Amazon.com. I am not a Yankee fan, but do like Torre. I am not surprised that the book will include discussion of issues regarding management and ownership, but was a little surprised to hear that it will also include discussion of behind the scenes, sometimes personal issues with individual players. With Torre still coaching, is this appropriate? Will his current players be concerned what might appear about them in a book someday, and could this affect how they interact with him? It will be interesting to see just what kind of details are included once the book it out.

We'll all know shortly of course but I'm hoping Mr. Torre has the class to not disclose some things. I know books need to be interesting in order to sell though. That worries me. MLB doesn't need any more scandals.

Having been around athletes, coaches, playing fields and locker rooms my entire life. I can tell you there are private conversations and consultations that take place all the time that should stay private. Should we have signed non-disclosure statements before any and all personal conversations? Can you imagine.... "Gee Coach I would love to answer your question about how I'm feeling today but you haven't signed the form yet".
yes- personally i think he should pipe down. Boo Hoo-only made 4 million!!

the teasers today include
- Cashman didnt have his back when he was in his bid to stay on as Yankee skipper in 2007
- A Rod was obsessed with Derek Jeter
- players referred to A Rod as "A Fraud"!

Joe is a bit of a whiner. He knows who his boss was, he left, let it go!

Folks out here in the 9-5 world are out of work. Don't really have time to hear how he was "mistreated" with million dollar offers!

at least that's how I feel.!
