I just want to give a fatherly congratulations to my son Johann Knee of Montgomery Village, MD for his signing with the DII Kutztown Bears, Kutztown University. Although he had offers from DI schools such as Ohio, University of Miami (OH), Cleveland State and letters from many others, he opted for Kutztown based on an academic fit, their strong baseball program, his liking of Coach Blum and the opportunity to make a contribution early.

He finished his Junior and Senior season with nationally recognized Riverdale Baptist High School http://www.riverdalebaseball.com hitting .410 with 29 RBIs and 3HR for '08. He helped Riverdale go 32-8 this season and gave Coach Terry Terrill his 800th win. He played with some great teammates; Tommy Winegardner, Carl Travers, Anthony Wilson and many others. Riverdale also won the Maryland Private School State Championship in '07 and '08.

He hit in the 4th spot over the last two seasons and over the last four years of play, which includes spring, fall and summer ball amassed a career .428 BA, with 21 HR...and hundreds of RBIs...lol.

He was named by Collegiate Baseball America News as All-State and made 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-County http://www.riverdalebaseball.com. In '06 he was ranked very high by Perfect Game and Baseball America. He also played for Team Ohio in the Junior Olympics.

He is currently one of the few graduating '08 players playing Collegiate Summer Baseball in the Clark Griffith League. He was asked to tryout for Team Maryland, but decided to join the CGL instead. He was recently traded to the Arlington Diamondbacks.

I love you son...you've given me years of memories that will live in my heart forever. I hope the good Lord bestows on you the ability to achieve all your dreams. Regardless of baseball, you're truly my hero and I love you so very, very much.
