"This house is big enough, is there another HSBBWer who'd like to split it with me? I'm sure you could live in one half and I'd take the other and we'd rarely see each other."

I haven't taken the virtual tour yet. Is there a dog house? If it has a halfway decent dog house I'll consider going 'halvsies' with you papi. I pretty much live in the dog house all of the time any way. No 'Here boy, fetch it!' games though. It's not like I have four good legs!

Don't even think about it papi...I'm not wearing it!

Why is this house an example of someone with more money than brains? Do you know what he paid for the house? Do you what interest rate he paid? Do you know how much money Smoltz has? Do you know his personal financial situation?

I'm not the one publicly judging him and questioning his intelligence based on zero knowledge of his personal finances.

The three minutes it would have taken you to do a "John Smoltz" Google search prior to blurting out this brilliance would have produced the following "About the Author" paragraph, pertaining to the book published earlier this year:

John Smoltz is a former Major League Baseball pitcher and active sportscaster. He is best known for his prolific career of more than two decades with the Atlanta Braves, during which he garnered eight All-Star selections and received the Cy Young Award in 1996. He is currently the chairman of King's Ridge Christian School in Atlanta and is a scratch golfer. (Tiger Woods has said that Smoltz is the best golfer outside of the PGA tour.) He lives in Atlanta with his family.

Two more minutes of reasearch would have revealed that this "idiot's" book is one of the more intelligent post-career baseball bio's published.

Maybe you should stop watching so much TV.
The baseball lesson is here for me. Baseball was the conduit by which Smoltz became wealthy. That wasn't always the case as many of you know, MLB players at one time had no more money than the average Joe. I know a very successful and happy former major league baseball player from the late 50's to early 70's era that has lived in the same brick ranch that is probably worth only around $200,000.

The Smoltz house is a nice example of pleasing architecture and high quality fixtures. That's all.

I prefer something more along these lines:

Mountain Cabin

The man has got plenty of money and it's not all from baseball, baseball just the catalyst that made it happen.

Sadly I read that Curt Shilling is in financial trouble, might have to sell the bloddy sock, bad investment in video game company.

If you don't have more money that brains after a lengthy major league career, you either had a really bad agent, you're are like, Einstein level smart.

Smoltz's career earnings were up around $135 million. He's a pretty bright guy, but I don't think he has $135 millon in brains. I hope he doesn't read that as an insult....$135 million buys a LOT of brain these days.
