Just announced on Red Sox Pre-game Report that Jon Lester has "a treatable form of anaplastic large cell lymphoma". His family issued a statement thanking his medical team and the Red Sox organization for their support and asking that the public respect their need for privacy.

My son and I were at the PG Northeast Underclass a couple of weeks ago, where Jon spoke to the players and did a Q&A session for those assembled. I remember thinking "he looks like a baby-faced kid and he's pitching in the majors." He was a terrific, poised speaker and had a positive impact on many of the players assembled. And he's just 22 years old.

We've said lots of prayers this summer for lots of our HSBBW family members. How about we add Jon to the family and pray for him too?

Prayers for Jon and the Lester family.

Anaplastic large cell lymphoma is the faster-growing lymphoma and needs prompt chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy treatment uses drugs to destroy cell lymphoma cells the treatment is usually is intensive.

This type of lymphoma usually responds well to chemotherapy, and is thus treatable. The lymphoma could disappear into remission and completely.
