As many of you are aware, College Select has fielded a Summer team for the first time---for many years we have had just a Fall team and will continue to have a fall program.

I have to tell you that at 68 years of age, and despite the heat this summer, these summmer weeks have been among the best I have ever had baseball wise. I am rejuvenated in terms of baseball

Great group of families and the boys bust their butt and are impressing people in each event. What makes it even better is that the majority of the summer kids will be back with us for the Fall season. That gives us 5 months together which is great in terms of teaching and recruiting and creating a College Select family..

For those of you you try to figure out why we, even at 68 years of age, do what what we do consider this;

Many of us have seen our own sons careers end years ago--we still love the game and stay connected and are able to give back from our experiences

Many of us just simply love the game more than life itself--for me it is my release--as my wife says every weekend I return home looking like a new man--full of life and smiling--why shouldn't I?--I have just spent the time with great kids who work together as a team and respect the game the way it is to be respected.

In putting the team together we did things a bit differently--we did not hold tryouts---our players came from recommendations from our alumni, high school coaches and players myself and staff have seen--lo and behold it worked--we have one of the greatest group of players we have ever had--I could not be more pleased with our roster.

Realize folks that it is not always about the money--for many of us it is about the joys and pleasures of being on the baseball field with great kids who come from great families

This why I do it !!!1

This is not about me but the kids we have

The past two days the guys who live near each other have been trying to situate a place for a group BP and where doing it via facebook--it didn't happen=---but the final note in the back and forth was what I liked: " It doesn't matter because we will put on a hitting clinic this weekend in Buffalo"

Gotta love the attitude

Congratulations on stepping into the world of summer travel baseball, I have to admit, I always thought with all your announcements of commits that you were a travel baseball program that gave exposure to players and really got them their shot at college.

My question is, why do you not go to some of the bigger events around the country like the Perfect Game events in GA or FL, that would give exposure to better players and better college programs?

I expected this to come up

Simple fact why we do what we do--the majority of our kids will end up in college around here in the northeast

If you look at the events we have been to you see a number of teams from what I term the "close south" on the coaches attending list

Who and what determines what you term " better players and better college program" ???

Should I take that as an insult?--I think not--just attribute it to ignorance on your part with regard to the schools we play in front of here in our region/

Should we come to your state and play in front of many great schools out there if the kids don't want to attend school on your coast? What purpose deos that serve other to say weren't to California---we like to go to Jupiter because it is the best event in the entire season and our kids can be seen by the colleges you term "better" that would have seen them earlier--economincs for the families also figure in

I hope that this answers your inquiry

We try to hit the areas where our kids want to attend school--Godwilling the PG people see fit to invite us back again to Jupiter the schools we may have missed will see the players in action

To be truthful I am not caught up in the "image" thing--I am here to serve my players interests nothing more. nothing less
