Does anybody know what the NCAA rules are for contacting coaches when a player is at a JUCCO? Also, when do four year schools generally start recruiting JUCCO players? We really appreciate any information!

JUCO players can have contact with NCAA coaches by phone or e-mail at any time. The recruitment of JUCO players will depend upon the needs of the NCAA program, as well as when the athlete will be eligible to transfer (i.e., is the athlete required to obtain his Associates Degree before he can be eligible at an NCAA program?).

When my son was at JuCo he was contacted by several D2/D3 university coaches as the JuCo season ended - probably the last month or so. Most of the D2/D3 seasons wrapped up a week or two before their JuCo season ended so they had the time to scout out the JuCo's for players that might fit their needs.
Believe it or not, they do check the JuCo stats posted on the NJCAA website. My son had the second most # of doubles of D2 JuCo players. He also broke the school record for that stat. That one stat got him noticed by the D2 he eventually signed a NLI with. They never actually saw him play.
