My cousin got accepted and received his letter of Intent from a JUCO about a month ago. A D1 and D2 school are both still interested but have yet to offer a scholarship. They want to have one more look at him during the spring season. He is halfway through his senior year and is trying to decide what's best for him. He's not sure if he should sign the Juco Letter of Intent or wait to hear from the other schools. He also doesn't want to lose the interest of the Juco coach. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. What would be his best option at this point? Should he just sign the Letter of Intent?

Most Juco's are accustomed to being last on the pecking order and expect to wait until the end to see if a player is offered at any 4 yr schools. There also typically isn't a whole lot on the line as JC's are typically quite inexpensive.
It is not typical for a D1 to be taking their time with looking at a HS senior, let alone have interest. I'd be very curious to hear any details of the dialog going on and level of interest with that school. Is your cousin a P or position player?
If he were my son, I would suggest he tell the juco coach that he still has a small chance of getting a D1 offer, but if he (coach) still wants him to sign the NLI then he will. Basically, be honest and let him know that if he plays juco, he wants to play for that school.
Juco coaches know that D1 is the goal. I don't think many of them would feel disrespected by this approach.
Here's an old post that I think is still valid.

HS players can dual sign. I recommend signing the JUCO NLI so there is a concrete plan but this will not prevent a HS player from a late D1 opportunity if it is presented. I would hate to see the JUCO move on to another recruit and neither the D1 or D2 offer materialize.
