Not always, will they all transfer. Usually, each university has a limit of transfer hours from a JUCO, since they are freshman and sophomore hours. You will just need to check with the university you are transferring to (for example, DBU allows 66 hours). Also, schools have articulation agreements in place with different community college systems. Most hours are transferrable up to 60-66 or so. But you have to talk to counselor at the school to get specifics.

No. Not every course offered at a JUCO will transfer to a Texas four year school.

Some four year schools have cross references on their websites showing what courses will transfer. Some of the cross references are based off the Texas standard course numbering system, some are more detailed (showing courses by individual schools).

The best way is to get it in writing from the four year school. But that may be problematic if your son isn't locked in on the four year school yet.

In your specific case, I would guess that most of the courses your son would take at a JUCO would probably transfer. But that is just a guess.
