Junior Colleges

Thanks H&R...anyone with an idea about the better players at the JC's? Wasn't there a kid at Northen Essex the last couple of years? How does Northen Essex get those players?

northern essex has been up and coming for a few years.they finished second in the regionals last year ,they had some all region players and a couple 2nd team all americans.i think they just got a transfer in . jeff castillo from salem. they should be in the hunt again this year.there are some very good players around the area who aren't as good in the class room as they are on the field.coach quinlan seems to find them.

Castillo is a goo dpick up. where does quinlan get all his pitching? He has had a couple of studs in the last few.

What kind of skills does the Castillo kid have? I heard some good things about him in HS and was wondering where he'd surface...

yo i think they find him,last couple of years ryan mooridian, and adam delrio.both local kids.ryan was drafted by the dbacks low so he didn't go.from what i see alot of the kids on the team were looked at by d1 colleges chose not to go for whatever reason and stayed local.lets face it its not stanford but they play some decent teams from time to time.and they have no shortage of discipline,and thats important.for alot of kids baseball keeps them in school and if you do anything long enough you can get good at it they have alot of four year schools looking at the players so thats in their favor. it works
