I decided that this was a recruiting question and not a "pitching question" and moved the question to this forum:

My son is heartbroken-was having a strong Junior year pitching; however started experiencing back pain again--just received a phone call stating he has a pars in L5...the orthopedic surgeon will be calling soon to review matters with us. I know this time period for a baseball player is critical if they want to play at the next level. My question is: if he is out for 3-6 mths, how does he stay in front of the college coaches which he has been hearing from? His father has video of him pitching against very competitive hs teams (complete games)--does he send an email explaing his situation and offer of game footage? We will not know how long he is out until we receive the phone call. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
