Only team I know that is going from Dallas is the Dallas Tigers. I would imagine several other Dallas teams will be there as well. But I understand that if you call Perfect Game that they might find a team for you or put you on a team of theirs. They really want 08's that haven't committed yet but many mixed 08 / 09 teams will be playing. I'm looking forward to watching the event in person.

Remember NO COOLERS!!!
Yes, my son is guest pitching for Team Adidas.

It is raining but we just heard that they are trying to start the 8 am games at 2 pm.

Team Adidas won last night 2-1.

Danny should pitch sometime today.....or late tonight depending on the rain.

I haven't met the 2011 on the roster. But they do have a 2009, Keyvius Sampson that is very highly rated, Top 50 in his class.

Last night was an eye openner, wall to wall college coaches and scouts, hundreds....well worth the time, effort and money. This is a real good experience for my son.
Team Adidas won 3-1 , beating Bellaire to go 2-0 in Pool Play.Danny pitched scoreless innings to help Team Adidas.

This event has absolutely has allowed him to see all the talent out there and I hope that the experience helps him understands what he has to do to get to the next level considering the competition.

PG added 12 wild card teams to the Bracket Play so now they will have 32 teams playing for the Championship.

On a side note, listening to some of the coaches and scouts talk really re-enforces the idea that character counts:
I over heard two scouts talking about a player and the one confirmed to the other other one that he had heard him cursing alot.....they didn't seem to like it one bit.

I told you so.

Or, as much fun.

Outstanding observation, PDiddy.

I won't ever forget going to Jupiter with Hernandez's Tiggers.

It's a long story, but I almost got to go this year with an "adopted" son.

I am sure when they get back in town they will let you know more of the details.

From an outsiders perspective I can tell you what it looked like in one game and what it sounded like from talking to one of the players.

They went 1-2 in pool play, started slow in game one and got behind because of 8 walks and the bats came up short in the end losing 6-5.

Game two, they lost 2-0 and were down 0-2 in pool play. I watched the game and Verhagen looked good, good velocity - upper 80's consistantly ( 10+ scouts / coaches watching the game) , with good location.

The two runs scored with some help from a bad hop and a bad throw. Two guest players were involved in the plays, both good players just not regular Tigers and one of those was playing out of position.

They missed having their regulars with them due to football.

But once again it was the bats that didn't come through in game two.

I don't know how the rest of the weekend played out but I think they tried to put together a team that they thought could compete and it just didn't workout the way they planned or hoped. The roster looked like they had enough pitching to go with their normally very reliable hitting.
