FYI: For those easily offended at "Those Kind of Parents" or when Posters post about trivial things, or if you want to rain on my parade... read no further! JK!
Some of you know of some of the struggles that our family have been dealing with the last couple years.  Husbands disabling Stroke, our 2013 RHP's injury from Shoulder Instability./  Overuse leading to Tommy John surgery last Summer, after High School graduation. The College still wanted him, and wanted him to have the surgery.  He did. It went well. Rehab and recovery have gone well, although some shoulder tightness. But, doing some of his P90X workouts, along with swimming, seemed to help that so much, his Trainers had him continue doing that. But, it has been a long lonely, tough year. Part of a team, but not really. Little notice by the Coach or staff. Although Teammates have been great.
Well tonight, after his Universities home game, while all the staff and team were still there, our 2013 son - Denny, was called out to have his first post surgery Bull-pen session throwing live. Nobody, not the Coaches, nor his teammates had ever seen him throw before. He was told not to throw at 100% or any Offside pitches, or at least not until he had already thrown one...well. He felt like he was on and accurate,  and that his velocity was there too, without giving it 100%. And NO pain!  He was happy and excited! Likely a little nervous, as they all stood to watch his session, and then all come and congratulate him too!
And to make things even better, who was the first person he called to share his news...well, after the girlfriend ...but, his Mom! This past year has brought us even closer than we've always been. This just makes it all worth it!

Happy & Grateful Mom!

PS: Shout out of thanks to JH for his help and inspiration!

Awesome!!

Thanks for sharing in Son's good news! And yes, as parents, or in our situation, parent, you do feel for what your child is going thru, whatever the situation or age. You pray that you got it right, in guiding them to trust themselves in making their own decisions. And sometimes it isn't easy. This son is our Oops Baby, with brothers 9 & 12 yrs. his seniors. His brothers both chose to drop out of H.S. when they came of age. Good kids,  just weren't cut out for traditional education. More hands on learning. Both happily married, with 2 kids each, homes of their own, and employed long term for same Construction company. But, 2013 even wrote an essay / speech about it, and choices. He has had focus and direction his whole life. No...quit...aren't part of his mentality. And he has gone thru some SERIOUS  medical issues, that have already changed his course from Football to Baseball.
So yes, Mom is happy for HIM! He has earned and deserves every bit of good fortune that God grants him on his journey. Proud of him!

Thanks for your well wishes for him!

That's just wonderful. I was blessed to see JH's first start after his Tommy John surgery, and months of re-hab, with his dad coming down from  New York to Virginia to watch, and it was a wonderful experience. To see the result of many months of hard work by an outstanding young man is a good  thing...

Good luck encouraging him with the "p" word ("patience")...
