Having been on this site for a few years now,I have seen the discusssions on the Divisions of college baseball---what is curious is the variations in the different parts of the country---in my Northeast Region Division III programs are strong while NAIA programs are not---JUCOS are strong on the West Coast and even have their own organization

I think that's a great question TR! I think we often forget about the differences across the nation when talking about respective levels. Here NAIA is very strong. KY has three NAIAs that are usually nationally ranked. TN is also a very strong area for NAIA with ranked and winning programs that compete nationally.

DIII here in KY isn't very good. There are no strong DIII programs, however go on up to Ohio and Michigan you can find some excellent programs in all sports at some DIIIs that win and compete at a national level.

JUCOs are almost non-existent in KY... literally with only one JUCO. However, go to TN next door, and you'll find several strong programs (out of 11 total) including Walters State which is almost always at the JUCO world series every year.

Excellent reminder for folks to consider this aspect when discussing schools.
