I'm bumping your question back up to the top in case any members can help you. Also, are you interested only in colleges in the Northeast, or anywhere in the country? Sometimes making your question more specific helps others to help you.
Some colleges list their JV team information on their website, but I've heard in the past that some have a JV team but don't publicize it on their site. Here in Minnesota, one good baseball school that has had a JV team in the past is Mankato State University. Most college JV teams play Junior Colleges or Community College teams, and they usually play a short season - perhaps only 20 games compared to 40 to 60 for the regular team depending on the level.
A few schools in our area field JV teams. Several that come to mind: Pfeiffer, Wingate, Belmont Abbey, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Montreat. Here's a schedule for Lenoir Rhyne, to give you a sense of the teams they play:
I have generally found that if a schools roster is larger than say 25-30 and they have a good amount of frosh and soph's they usually play a jv schedule. Not always I'm sure, but check their websites and rosters.
How many DI teams have JV teams? It is our experience that JV is common at the DIII level, but I have never seen it at the DI level (tho admittedly I'm not familiar with all the programs) and am unfamiliar with DII.
referring to ealier thread...Villa Julie has just started the JV squad but is not advertising it...ask the school your are talking to if they offer JV...we prefer Developmental squad...we are planning to play JUCO and other DIII JV's...also I'm not entirely sure of DI rules but many have Club teams that they have players play for...but I really don't have a good answer for yoU!
