At the end of the regional championship game (K-State's first regional appearance ever!)when it became very obvious we were not going to be able to come back and win, Coach Hill made a gesture that I know I'll never forget. He went to the mound to make a pitching change and at the same time, had 5 subs brought in to take our Sr. starters' places in the field. They left the field-granted with tears-but with hugs from their teammates and a standing ovation from our fans, as well as, the Rice fans. An incredible thank you for all their hard work over these last couple of years to help Kansas State become the team it was this year. A much better send-off than walking off the field after the loss as the Rice team celebrated. Thanks to the Rice fans as well for helping make it a special ending for them.

Classy guy, that was very appropriate.

On the other hand I saw a coach get tossed yesterday. Can't imagine a team battling for a chance to move forward and the HC had to be escorted (he wouldn't leave) off the field. Not a good way for any team to end their season.

Congrats to your son and his team, the road to Omaha is not an easy one, the closer one gets means good things happened along the way.
It would've been nice to see that...

Unfortunately, "The friend of College Baseball" as they like to call themselves - ESPN, decided to re-air Sunday's FSU Vs. Ohio State game. You know, the game that was over in the 1st inning... The game where the final score was 37-6?!?

Yeah, that was appropriate, with 6 LIVE-Regional-ELIMINATION games on at the same time!!!

Thanks ESPN, you're a JOKE!!!

One of the coolest things I've ever seen first hand in sports in something very similar. In the late 90's at a D3 school near my house, there was a group of four guys on the basketball team that had the most successful four year run in school history. At the last home game in the last minute of another big win, coach sends in four subs and brings those four seniors off the floor together. The place went nuts and it was just a very cool moment. By the way, they were the national runner up that season
