Just shows you what a strange and fickle game it can be.....particularly for pitchers.

ESPN had an article where it said in his latest rehab start, he was only reaching 86 mph average. He is 0-5 in Triple A and gave up 30 runs in 15 plus innings and even hit six batters. Pretty ugly.

How ugly could it be if he is walking away with the 14M that remins on his contact.

Scott is not the type of pitcher that can be successful at 86 or 88. At his best he was mid 90s or better and a strikeout (high pitch count) type pitcher. For a while he was one of the best young pitchers in baseball.

He has made a lot of money. Personally, I think it was all about injury and later might have became a mental thing. He's still fairly young, so who knows. If he wants, someone will give him a chance, maybe next spring.

What a young talent he was and what a shame. His throwing motion, IMO, is one that could make it difficult to keep a healthy shoulder joint.

Shoulder injuries are tough to recover from for baseball players.

As TPM said, "it's a bit easier for a big contract guy to deal with a release."

I hope to see Kazmir bounce back. He was something special back when he was with the Rays.

What is it about his motion that makes you think that? I always thought he had good mechanics and a fluid delivery with a good, natural arm slot. Maybe a bit violent at times.
