Back in my days as the Freshman baseball coach at Jesuit, I taught PE at St. Rita School. St. Rita's is the big church right next to Jesuit. I had Luke in PE when he was a 1st or 2nd grader. It would be an understatement to say that Luke was a "hoot" as a little one. Luke was very active then and looking back, displayed alot of leadership skills. All his classmates were very protective of him, as was I.

When I watched that piece last weekend, I got a little emotional because watching him on the sideline with Uncle Bob brought back a lot of memories for me. His mother should be up for saint hood. I believe Luke is one of 5 kids...I may be leaving one out, there were lots of O'Brien's at St. Rita's.

Anyway, Luke was an inspiration to his classmates back then. Apparently, not much has changed.

God Bless you Luke!
My dad forwarded this to me the other day and I just now had time to sit down and watch it..

This video doesn't even truly give justice to what Luke does. Not only does he support the football team, but he is up at school at least a few times a week with his mom talking with all the kids and making everyone laugh.

He also came to a ton of the baseball games, and win or lose he always had a smile on his face...

I am glad someone finally decided to put it on the news, he deserves it..
