I heard Hawk in an interview yesterday say that Joe Crede, right now, today, is in the same class of third basemen as Clete Boyer, Brooks Robinson and Mike Schmidt. Talk about your homers! Have another vodka Mr. Harrelson!

I agree that nobody "homers" better than the Hawk 
That said, I wouldn't say he is a hall of famer just yet, but I have admired Joe Crede from a distance for quite some time. There is an old-school quality about the guy where he seems to just go about his business and get the job done in a very big way. The playoff game he won last year with the walk-off, I believe he struck out a few innings earlier which would have won the game and did not let it bother him. He showed me a lot last year and imho, is one of the White Sox's best players.

Crede is a fine player but to put him the class with the three noted players--no way--at least not yet
Clete had no offense.
Brooks had no pop in his bat and was a vacuum at 3rd.
Schmidt had a heck of a bat and couldn't field little league grounders.
Crede has had a breakout offensive year, but needs to put together about 3 or 4 in a row. Great defensive player.
Hawk had one great year. Definitely a Sox homer!

Didn't realize Brooks had 250 home runs...probably got them when the game was out of reach...just like "clutch" Ron Hansen. (lolololol)
