I thought that was a classy ad Kerry Wood took out in the chicago newspapers on Sunday. He was baically thanking the fans of Chicago for their support while he was here and mentioned what an honor it was to play in Chicago.
Not sure how many athletes today would take the time and money to do something like this.

I'm sure Jim Hendry appreciated it. I'd like to think Wood did that only because he appreciates the fans but on the other hand wonder if it was a way to get back at Hendry as well. More and more conflicting reports on who offered what and what was turned down. Both sides tell a different story and my guess is the banter is not over just yet. In the mean time I'll give Wood the benefit of the doubt. He was pretty loyal to the cubs and took less $ a year ago for the teams sake.

Kerry Wood has always been a class act. Even though he spent a lot of time on the DL, he always worked hard to come back. He took those 1 year deals because he knew the Cubs did not get their money's worth.

No doubt there is conflicting stories, I was not happy to see him or DeRosa go, but in the long run it was probably the best for both parties.

I hope he can have some success in Cleveland, have always liked him and will miss him. I really think the worst thing that ever happened to him career wise was striking out 20 Astros!
