I must say, Highlandermom, I am a bit perplexed why this bothers you. If the guy wants some attention for his son -- or maybe it is the son himself -- no big deal, and really not much different from what we see here every day.

He's looking for a chance, and I hope it gets its. Frankly, his willingness to look all over strikes me as a good thing.

But either way, either he is good enough or he is not and what is posted here postive or negative ultimately will have very little impact.
I'm with you HMom, The boy is from Illinois and the posts are on Ca and Fl forums. He has already signed with NIU, what chance does he need-is he looking for a better college offer? Florida and California MLB scouts won't be in Illinois.

Yes, it's always nice to get some recognition, but isn't it sweeter when someone else is doing the bragging?

By the way, just exactly what is "the real deal"?

Aren't all our sons the "real deal"? JMO

Sorry, Jemaz. I was responding to your post and the assumptions you made without doing a little bit of research.

I've never known Highlandermom to make a statement without merit and quite frankly I would not have commented on the multiple posts until you felt the need scold Hmom.

Yes, as stated before bragging is accepted on this site, and encouraged, however, there are ways to do it without being
braggadocious.

By the way, Why do we have forums for different states?

Here is where I am coming from:

If you don't like the guy's posts, don't read them. It is not difficult. There is simply no need for anyone to instruct him how to post, based on what he posted.

I think Highlandermom is great and I enjoy her input and I certainly have high regard for the accomplishments of her son. Nonetheless, I see no need for he comment to this guy.

If I were him, my conclusion would be that this is not all that friendly of a place and, as a result, I would look elsewhere, which I believe is an atmosphere detrimental to all who share so much here.
jemaz ...

I understand what you are saying, and maybe it was the hour ... I was up late trying to keep our pool from flooding into our backyard last night. Generally I take your advice ... if I don't like a poster's posts, even if I read them, I don't comment. But when I noticed the first post in the California forum, I thought it was interesting and upon checking the public profile for the poster, thought it was curious that the poster had just registerd on the 25th and posted basically the same message 5 times in such a short period of time. I just didn't/don't understand the purpose.

There is lots of bragging here, and seldom is anyone chided for it

As most here know from my past posts, I have no problem at all with a parent/coach/admirer making positive statements or sharing positive stories about players. But that is not how I saw these posts ... just my perception, I guess. It was never my intention to deter someone from posting here at the "friendliest place on (cyber)earth" ...

If you think it is appropriate to discontinue or delete this thread, I won't be offended.
