Coach Lake is starting his 7th year in the program. He himself is a LaSalle alumni and played baseball at LaSalle in the early 80's. He and the other coaches in the program are all part-time (Lake has another job flexible enough to allow him to do both jobs effectively). Over his tenure the program has been up and down. Last year they had a very nice season, but faded down the stretch and were out quickly in the A-10 tournament. I believe they will have a very nice team this year.

LaSalle does red-shirt freshman who the coach deems are not ready to play. They also bring in a number transfers from other programs, both JC and other 4-year colleges, so competition every year is pretty competitive.

LaSalle recently lost his top assistant,Coach Duffy who I believe took another coaching job. That job is currently not filled. I have actually talked with Coach Lake before, and believe him to be a straight-shooter and all about playing the best players who can help the program win. A good portion of there program is recruited locally - around Philadelphia and south into the Baltimore area. They have recently brought some nice players in from the west coast, and seem to get a player drafted per year over the last several years.

I'm not sure about funding and will find that information out...
