Its been 9 weeks since son had labrum surgery to fix a torn labrum. His rehab is going very well with being ahead in terms of range of motion. Physical therapist is quite impressed how well son is healing. He goes to see doc in another 4 weeks to get released to start throwing program. No need to rush the process as he was granted a red shirt and has all spring and summer to rehab. We are excited to see his progress but know its still a long road. He started to swing the bat again, slowly and is itching to do more. Good to see his enthusiasm.

Great news. Best of luck to him in his recovery.
Nice!
Good news.
good news!
Today marked the 13th week post labrum surgery for a Slap Tear. Son visited the surgeon today and was cleared to start a throwing program. His physical therapist is choosing to wait another 4 weeks to strengthen and to gain more flexibility. Son is following direction well and is excited to see how things play out in the near future but is very optimistic, saying his shoulder is feeling good. Taking it a day at a time.
Good news. Hoping for a full and speedy recovery
Update on our sons' labrum. His PT started his throwing program 17 weeks post surgery. He has started at 45ft for 25 throws, 2 days later was 45ft for 2 sets of 25 throws. Monday will be his 3rd day of throwing and most likely 45ft for 3 sets of 25 throws. Will continue to post as to keep a timeline of his progress. So far so good. It's good to see the progression. Good luck to all your ball players as they continue into heir conference play.
Good news. Tell him not to push but follow the program. I know that is hard for most guys but beneficial. Teammate of soon rushed in his rehab ( surgery was on pinched nerve on outside of throwing elbow). Got sore. Another MRI. All ok but pushed back about a month
Thank you Chiefmike777. We talk about it often, to stay the course and follow the program. So far so good.
Update on our son. He is continuing the throwing program and is out to 90Ft with 3 set of 25 throws. So far so good with no setbacks. He's about 6 months post op and feels better than ever. Says arm feels best its ever felt but sees the importance of the throwing program. He starting to throw with a bit more velo but still unsure of his arm slot and he does get sore after each session but no pain. Its just a matter of strengthening and staying the course. He is coaching a summer team this year with his old summer ball coach and has the opportunity to workout with the boys and get back in the game a bit. He will be ready to paly infield by end of June without any limitations and he is looking forward to it. Its been a long road but is starting to see the light. he does have a place to play his red shirt sophomore season and is looking forward to it. Will keep updating.
Great news
