Wow I had no idea that my “Is it just me” post would make a twist and turn into a 08 vs. 09 argument.

I do have one more question that maybe Mr. K.G can answer since it seems he knows everyone. My question is who are the 5 most influential people in the North Texas area when it comes to H.S players. Since I am new in Texas I would like to know who to call and maybe looking for a bird dog guy. I am pretty sure I already know 2 or 3 of them but I would like to see your thoughts.

Influential in what way?

I would have to say that Denny Dixon or Sam Carpenter would know as much or more about the area's baseball over the last 30 years than just about anyone around these parts.

I would say throw Tommy Hernandez in that mix, he's had plenty of good players come out of his orginization in the last few years.

I know Sam and I would agree. But I think Dixon is a scout and I doubt we could exchange info. But Thanks for the info.

Tommy Hernandez, Sam Carpenter, John Marston, and Ed Aguilar...those are just 4 I can think right now. Associated with the Dallas Tigers, Dallas Mustangs, and last two with the Texas Blackhawks. Combined they see all the top talent between their own players and definately the other top talent in the area by playing others (each other, Panthers, etc.)

Denny is a scout for the Mets organization.

Cade Griffis at DBAT could help you quite a bit in my opinion.

Coach Marston hovers around 50 some odd years...old as my dad. He is not only in the Texas Blackhawks organization but is also a VP for the Coppell Copperheads team in the TCL.

Kirk at D-BAT is a good suggestion. Although he probably wouldn't be as good as Kirk, Kermit Dow might also be an option.

Thanks for all the sugestions. I live in Houston and as you know North Texas is hard to cover due to how everything is so spread out. I think I may have a guy in place as of today.
