Does anyone else have trouble with other teams cancelling on you? Pretending it's raining when it's not, claiming they don't have a field, or flat out telling you they don't want to play you?

We're having a lot of trouble this year and I'm getting sick and tired of it.

The worst part is the calls always come within 24 hours of the game so it's too late to find another game.

Yesterday our team was on the field warming up when the other team called.

I'd heard through the grapevine that you were having this problem with cancellations. You never know quite who to believe when this problem crops up, so I decided to gas up my ultralight and have a look see myself.

I guess I snapped this picture while your team was snorkeling around in the dug out. I have to ask...is the backstroke included in your warm-ups?

Seriously...that is a huge problem for your team. I would imagine that the best course of action would be to flat out ask these other coaches what the problem is. If you get honest responses then you can take all of what you have learned into consideration and plan accordingly. Your team deserves to have willing opponents.

If your team is very, very good then some coaches from lesser skilled teams may duck out from playing your team. You may already be doing this, but try to match up with teams that are similar to yours or even a bit better. It would seem that everyone's motivation at that point would be to play the game...with a lot of enthusiasm and anticipation.

Let us know how this plays out.

biggerpapi, That's a league problem, I have talked to other managers in your league and it has been going on all season long. I would contact your league director and ask for some of that forfeit money each team puts up at the start of the season.

I thought we might see your team at the Super NIT last weekend at the Lumber Yard, Are you in the Sparks tournament?
