Okay I have thrown right and batted left for about 4 years now. When I was 11-13 I switch hit but then I didn't see any lefties for a long time and just became a left handed hitter.

One of our coaches told me he wants me to work on switch hitting again because he thinks that could really help me as far as getting into college with baseball is concerned.

Does anybody have any tips for me as far as developing my right handed swing? I've been taking swings right handed in BP lately just enough to get the awkwardness of swinging right handed out of the way. But the swing is still slow and not too full of power, every so often I can get a hold of one but it's tough for me trying to get around with it righty.

btw, I had an account on here before under the name Citruszilla but I forgot my password and it was associated with an email I don't use anymore.

Some will use video and mirrors as a reference tool so they can actually see what they are doing versus what they think they are doing. Some will look at video using a mirror to see how the swings match up side to side. Dry swings with the eyes closed help some get a better feeling on what the body is actually doing.

I switch hit throughout LL,HS and college but finally just stuck with hitting LH in college as I felt I saw the ball and its rotation better. Probably had more power RH but was more comfortable overall LH and had a higher BA and OBP hitting LH. Hitting LH I always was able to hit LH pitching well anyway so it just made sense to get as many reps in BP from the LH side.

Good luck. What you are trying can be difficult, particularly after a lay off of a few years.
Thanks for the insight. I'm starting to get it down, I'm starting to hit some liners and long fly balls righty (not as frequent as lefty still) but I think if it helps me find a college to play at that will be great and I have always had issues picking up lefties from the left side I think I had two hits out of my 10 ABs or so against lefties a .200 avg is not impressive from either side. In fact there was a conference game where I basically didn't start just because a lefty was on the mound and then I pinch hit later on with a righty on the mound and hit a double to deep center.

I used to be better righty than lefty but from not seeing a lot of lefties earlier I developed a better lefty swing. (I also used to throw better lefty but at young ages had to play third a lot and so developed my right as my throwing arm, and with throwing I don't think there's any going back.)
