My son has gone leather-free since little league. I can't see any reason to use batting gloves with today's virtually shock free metal bats. I see more and more kids going leather free, especially the good hitters. Now that he is using wood bats, he has continued to go gloveless, and I'm noticing more and more kids doing the same with wood.

haha! Been at the beach - of course it is! Was just saying what material I've seen - didn't make myself clear. Smile

Leather can apply to several "skins" - am wondering if it was an allergy to a particular one or if the allergy is the chemicals used in tanning.
