I am a lefty and have a pretty good move to first but is there any tips to picking off at 2nd and 3rd or possibly a better move over to first? any info would be very helpful
The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America is ruled by it like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past.- Field of Dreams

Hi DPHS. The key for a pitcher is to keep the runner close to the bag he occupies and give his defense a chance at getting the runner out. Don't worry about pickng at 2nd and 3rd, just let 'em know your there once in a while. At 1b you can practice to be quicker and give the runner different looks and go over on different cadences. Keep practicing. Good Luck
DPHS,
Continue to develop that move to first and don't let'em get to second! My move was a life-saver for me. I worked hard and had much success with it. (Once picked-off four in a college game) Always work on it, it is overlooked by so many, but nothing takes the wind out of a teams sails like picking a guy off after a big base hit. A few pointers: Lift your right knee to your left shoulder and keep your foot slightly toward home. This will give you proper load for the pitch and ensure that you don't go past the back edge of the rubber. By the way, make sure you know that the rule states that you must go past the BACK edge of the rubber before you are committed to home. When you step to make the throw try to step right on the 45 degree mark and then walk toward first base. Also, I always liked to keep my head facing the first base dug-out. This way I could take the sign and check on the runner without tipping anything with my head. Finally, practice in front of a mirror. Make your motion home and move to first look identical. Good luck, I wish you the best!
