TR - no doubt [especially here in Philly , where the NL East has been owned by the Braves for 500 years [until this year]. WC gives the teams so much more to play for, the fans more to get excited about, which only generates more interst in baseball -- how can that be a bad thing!! I think it makes for so many more meaningful games - it makes the opposing players play harder and managers manage harder [**** Frank Robinson maging against the Phillies the last 2 nights like it the freaking World Series!!! I'm kidding - HE SHOULD BE!!! He cares about the integrity of the game. In golf they call it "Protecting the field"...you don't lie down just b/c YOU have nothing [but pride] to play for...You gots to play and manage every game to win...WC just makes that many games have something at stake... I LOVE IT!!! [as opposed to hockey, of which I am a fan of the sport,...where only 3 teams don't make the playoffs and they p/offs run for 4 months. Making the baseball Wild Card has meaning [and the WC has a CHANCE to win the WS on top of that - it's not just a paper tiger.
